Arrive in Srinagar, the “Paradise on Earth.” After a warm welcome, drive towards Sonamarg, a stunning meadow surrounded by snow-capped peaks. Overnight stay in tents/homestay at Sonamarg.
Start your trek with a gradual ascent through lush meadows and pine forests. The trail opens into expansive valleys offering breathtaking views of Sonamarg. Reach Nichnai, a picturesque campsite surrounded by rugged mountains.
Cross the Nichnai Pass (4,080m) and descend into a beautiful valley. The highlight of the day is Vishansar Lake, a crystal-clear alpine lake reflecting the surrounding peaks. Overnight camping near the lake.
Spend the day exploring Vishansar Lake and its twin, Krishansar Lake. This day helps you adjust to the altitude while giving you time to enjoy the beauty of Kashmiri alpine meadows.
Cross the Gadsar Pass (4,200m), the highest point of the trek. From here, enjoy jaw-dropping views of both Vishansar and Krishansar lakes together. Descend towards Gadsar Lake, one of the prettiest high-altitude lakes, surrounded by wildflowers.
The trail takes you through rolling meadows, small rivulets, and patches of alpine flowers. Reach Satsar, a group of seven interconnected lakes that sparkle like gems in the high mountains.
Today’s highlight is the magnificent Gangbal and Nundkol twin lakes, lying at the base of Mount Harmukh. The view of the turquoise waters against towering cliffs is unforgettable. Camp beside the lake under starry skies.
Descend through dense pine forests and traditional Gujjar huts until you reach Naranag. From here, drive back to Srinagar, marking the end of your Kashmir Great Lakes adventure.
